On October 16, 2025, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Director of the Central Foreign Affairs Office, met with Su Shimin, Chairman and CEO of Blackstone Group, in Beijing.

Wang Yi appreciates Su Shimin's long-term efforts to promote cultural exchanges and the development of bilateral relations between China and the United States.

Wang Yi stated that the China US relationship is the most important bilateral relationship in the world today. For the two major powers of China and the United States, peaceful coexistence is the fundamental bottom line that must be upheld. Equality, respect, and mutual benefit are the correct ways to deal with each other. "Decoupling and breaking links" is not a rational choice in reality, and confrontation will only result in mutual harm. Both sides should engage in effective communication, properly resolve differences, and promote stable, healthy, and sustainable development of China US relations.

Su Shimin said that the US China relationship is closely related to the world. I hope both sides can strengthen communication, eliminate misunderstandings, and promote their respective development and prosperity. I am willing to continue making positive efforts for this.
